My husband and I love to take rides
And as houses we pass, I’ll always wonder
What kind of people within them reside
These simple thoughts in my mind I’ll ponder
Are they as happy as my husband and me
And are there children who are romping around
Or lonely old people with no one to see
Is there contentment or can love be found
O what a mystery these homes to me pose
O how I wish that into their homes I could just peep
My inquisitive mind just cannot dispose
Must be my curiosity that just wouldn’t sleep
Do any of you feel the way that I do
Ever wondered what people are like
I’m sure many of you are just like me too
So use your imagination when you go for a ride.
